Corks N Canvas is more than just a wonderful place to come paint on the weekends… we want to be your go-to party hot spot!! We have tons of great party-throwing experience, and we are willing to get creative to host your next event!

Q: How is a private party different than a regular class?

A: Private parties are the same cost as a regular class, but they are scheduled in advance and will only include members of the party renting the studio (so no random people). This gives you the flexibility to schedule the date, time, and painting length you want and also to choose the painting.

Q: How can I choose a painting? How many are there to choose from?

A: We have 1700+ paintings in the Corks N Canvas gallery, all made by artists from our various locations. They cover a wide and varied range of topics, from local New Orleans themes to abstracts to Masterpieces (Van Gogh, Monet, Vermeer, etc.). Once you have booked a private party, we will give you access to our gallery and you may browse by painting length or topic.

We also offer specialized classes such as Paint Your Own Pet, Paint Your Own House, Paint Your Own Pop Art Portrait, and Paint Your Own Rodrigue Blue Dog.

Q: How many people must I have to have a private party?

A: That depends on the day and time you want to host your party.

• Weekday days (Monday through Friday) : 10 people

• Weekday evenings (Sunday through Thursday) : 15 people

• Weekend days (Saturday and Sunday): 15 people

• Weekend (Friday and Saturday) evenings: 25 people

Q: What is the maximum number I can have at my party?

A: Our Metairie location has room for exactly 50 people. After that, we have to start getting really creative and it can get a bit cramped.

Q: What if I can’t get 15 people together?

A: We suggest that you either select a time that allows you to have as few as 10 people, or that you choose a regularly scheduled class and request a VIP party table for your group! We will be happy to do it.

Q: What are the costs associated with having a private party?

A: For adult parties hosted in our store, the cost is the same as coming to attend a regular class. Two hour events are $35 per person and three hour events are $45 per person.

Q: What are the costs of an on-site party, where you guys bring all the materials and instructors to us? How many people do I need?

A: That’s an easy one! The costs are the same as above, with a $5 per person fee for transportation of staff and materials. The same 15 person minimum applies to on-site parties.

Q: What do you provide for a private party? What should I bring?

A: We provide all the art supplies, the instructors of course, aprons, cups, ice, ice buckets, chilled water, plates, and napkins. We always tell customers, “Our house is your house”, which means that you can bring any beverages, snacks, meals, etc. that you want! There are several places nearby to purchase wine and food (Langenstein’s has a great wine selection, and Naked Pizza is just across the street). You can also just bring yourself if you want! We’re easy.

If you’d like we can also cater the event for you! We partner with Catering Etc., which has terrific food and beverages available.

Q: Can kids come to our private party?

A: Absolutely. Jefferson Parish does have strict alcohol laws that prohibit drinking in the presence of a minor, so if there is alcohol served or consumed at your party, all party members must be at least 18. You can choose to have an alcohol-free party and bring children of any age, though.

Q: Do I have to put down a deposit on my credit card to reserve my party time?

We don’t require a deposit, but we do take a credit card number to hold your place. We have a two-week cancelation policy on all of our private events, and there is a $150.00 fee for canceling in less than 14 days. We will not charge your credit card at any time without your knowledge and consent.

In some cases, such as corporate or team building events, we may ask for prepayment just to simplify the payment process.

If you reschedule your party more than once, we will likely ask for prepayment or a deposit.
